Naturopathic nutrition in Singapore with Sheeba Majmudar

If you have been told your results are normal but you still do not feel well, naturopathic nutrition starts with a simple question: why? Sheeba Majmudar looks for the root cause, then builds a plan around your biochemistry, your history and your daily life.

What Sheeba's naturopathic approach means

Naturopathy treats the body as one connected system. A tired person may have a nutrient gap, poor sleep, a stressed nervous system and a struggling gut all at once, and these problems feed each other. Looking at each symptom on its own can miss the pattern underneath.

Sheeba calls this connecting the dots. She is a nutritionist with more than 20 years of clinical practice and over 20,000 clients worldwide, and her work brings together three things: functional nutrition, which reads your blood test for early patterns; natural support, such as food, supplements and plant-based remedies; and care for the emotional and energetic side of health, for clients who want it.

The result is not a standard diet sheet. One plan cannot suit everyone, so your plan is built around your assessment results, your goals and what you can realistically keep doing. Sheeba's view is that healthy living should be natural but also realistic. Canadian-born, she has lived in Hong Kong, the US, India and Japan and is now based in Singapore, so she understands how people eat and live across East and West.

This approach works alongside conventional care. It does not replace your doctor. Sheeba can work with your GP or other practitioners, and she is recommended by GPs, gynaecologists, obstetricians, cardiologists and physiotherapists.

Common concerns Sheeba sees

Most clients arrive after a long search for answers. These are the concerns she hears about most often. Each is a starting point for investigation, and what helps will depend on what your assessments show.

Fatigue

Many clients have been told that their tiredness is just age. Sheeba looks at your blood test for possible contributors, such as nutrient gaps and signs of strain on energy production, the adrenals and the thyroid.

Gut health

Bloating, constipation, IBS and food reactions can affect how you absorb nutrients and how you feel from day to day. Sheeba reviews your history and your diet, and may suggest a Food Compatibility Test to look at foods and household products that may be linked to inflammation.

Hormones

Hormonal concerns can show up as weight changes, low mood, poor sleep or irregular cycles. Where more detail is useful, the DUTCH hormone test uses dried urine to look at hormone levels and how the body processes them.

Autoimmune issues

If you have an autoimmune condition, you may want to know what you can do alongside your medical care. Sheeba looks at factors such as diet, gut health and inflammation markers, then suggests nutrition and lifestyle support. This does not replace care from your specialist, and you should keep your medical team informed.

Weight

If your weight will not shift despite your best efforts, Sheeba looks at what may be behind it, including thyroid function, cortisol and insulin sensitivity. Clients whose main goal is fat loss can read about the Dropzone weight loss program in Singapore, which Sheeba created.

What happens from first enquiry to follow-up

  1. First enquiry. Call or WhatsApp the clinic, or send the contact form. Tell us what you would like to resolve and we will guide you on the next steps.
  2. Assessment. You will need a blood test report no older than three to four months. If you do not have one, ask when you book. Sheeba may suggest other assessments, depending on your concerns.
  3. One-to-one consultation. You meet Sheeba virtually or in person at Southpoint, Singapore. She goes through your results, medical history, goals and lifestyle with you.
  4. Your Total Wellness Protocol. You receive a personalised plan covering diet, supplements and lifestyle changes, with therapies where they are relevant.
  5. Follow-up. A follow-up is recommended, usually between four and eight weeks later, to check progress and adjust the plan. A repeat blood test or assessment can show what has changed.

Assessments and therapies Sheeba may use

You will not need all of these. Sheeba suggests only what is useful for your concerns.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sheeba Majmudar a naturopath?

Sheeba is a nutritionist who practises with a naturopathic approach. She holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and a Diploma in Clinical Herbology, both from the USA, and received the Best Naturopathic Nutritionist title at the Singapore Business Awards 2021, run by APAC Insider. She is not a naturopathic doctor or a medical doctor.

What is the difference between naturopathic nutrition and seeing a general nutritionist?

Good nutrition advice is the base of both. A naturopathic approach also looks at how your digestion, hormones, stress, sleep and environment affect one another, and it may draw on natural therapies alongside food and supplements.

Do I need a blood test before my first consultation?

Yes, in most cases. Sheeba works from a blood test report no older than three to four months. If you do not have one, ask when you book and the clinic will guide you.

Can I work with Sheeba if I live outside Singapore?

Yes. Health assessments can be done anywhere in the world, and consultations can be virtual or in person at the clinic at Southpoint, Singapore.

Will naturopathic nutrition replace my doctor or my medication?

No. Sheeba's services do not replace your doctor or specialist, and she cannot advise you to change a medication. She can work alongside your GP or other practitioners. Any change to your medication should be decided with your doctor.

Do I have to buy supplements from the clinic?

No. Sheeba recommends what to take and where to buy it, and she can review the quality of the supplements you already use.

This page is general information, not medical advice or diagnosis. Sheeba Majmudar is a nutritionist, not a medical doctor. Please speak to your doctor before starting any health or dietary programme, and before changing any medication. Individual results vary. See our terms and conditions.
